Yes: Go straight to a dentist or an oral surgeon and have the tooth treated or removed. Tooth infections can become life threatening rapidly. If you are unable to take off work today, have a doctor prescribe you antibiotics at least. Good luck.

Priorities: Although it's a judgment call on your part, you should make every effort to see a dentist asap as infections can spread and cause serious complications, as well as become life threatening. There are many dentists that have evening hours. It is better to have it treated; don't be tied to one dentist. Left untreated, if it worsens, you might end up losing even more time off from work!

It is an emergency!: Yes, you need to see your dentist inmediately! You require care inmediately, get the appropiate treatment now! Treating a tooth abcess inmediately prevents the infection from spreading to other parts of your body like your brain or your heart, this were leading causes of death before the discovery of the first antibiotic (penicillin) and among the leading reasons for the birth of the dentistry.
