There is a lotTo: Dissect through. Did they find a source 6 years ago? How long have u been on elavil (amitriptyline)? Have u been sleeping well prior? Clinching or grinding teeth at night? It seems as if u have had many studies. Elavil (amitriptyline) is a good antidepressant for pain but i would consider asking about a low dose benzodiazepine at night; it helps sleep, restless legs, muscle spasm, teethclinching at night, etc. Good luck.

See below: The hip pain could be bursitis. The leg cramps could be from pinched nerves or it could be an electrolyte abnormality. See your doctor for further evaluation.

Leg pains: Leg aches or cramps which occur only in bed may be due to restless leg syndrome. There are medications available by prescription for this condition. There are many other causes for leg cramps but would usually also occur during the day.
