I never recommend it: Pick one or the other and stick with that. Alternating exhausts the kid and caretaker for no benefit.Fever is not the enemy, poor fluid intake is much more likely to put a kid in the hospital while fever actually slows the infection. If the situation spooks you have the kid seen.
