Hope non cancer: There are many causes of back pain , not just cancer like arthritis, herniated disc presessing on nerves or spinal cord , muscle spasam etc , your doctor ordered MRI to find the cause, good news , it is not due to tumor. Some times pet scan will be ordered to reconfirm.
