Thyroid surgery: A thyroid cyst can come to surgical resection, after several tests and therapies. A fna or fine needle aspiration and pathology exam of the aspirate is usually the first step. Okay to ask your doc for answers. If you see a surgeon, take a friend with you to help with questions. Good luck.

Depends: If the lump is cancer or suspicious for cancer than surgery is the best option. If the lump is benign (not cancer), than it can be left alone.
