A member asked:

Can eating an excess of "fatty" foods over long periods of time cause severe depression?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It can: A diet which is mainly made up of fatty foods can cause depression. Fatty foods are usually not very nutrient rich compared to a healthy diet. A nutrient deficiency in vitamin b and omega 3 can cause depression. Depending on the type of foods that you are eating, they can also offset your blood sugar which can cause depression or mood fluctuations.
