Inflammation: Glomerulus is the functioning unit of the kidney. Blood passes through the glomerulus and water with electrolytes /some protein is filtered through the glomerulus into the kidney tubules where it undergoes various processes , eventually forming the final product- urine. "itis" means inflammation.Glomerulonephritis means- inflammation of the glomerulus - many causes - infection, autoimmune, cancer.
