Rare, but happens: Young adults can get focal segmental disease that causes high blood pressure and proteing loss. Other forms of gn also occur. The diagnosis depends on urinalysis and kidney biopsy. Many are treatable but not all depending on type. Obesity can cause gn. Also, drug abuse is more common in younger adults and can cause gn.
