Vitamin D: Is fat soluble and takes approx. 3 mos to reach equilibrium with normal daily replacement, and the same length of time to be fully metabolized out of your system. However, you are constantly making vitamin d in your skin, and ingesting it in food, so there is no real accurate answer to your question.

Depends on level: If you have normal blood level of 25 hydroxy vit d level should be more than30nanogrm per milliliter.If it is normal that means you are getting enough in your diet and exposure to sunlight.Diet sources are cold water fish, fortified orange juice, milk&cereals, eggs.Food is a minor source of vit d, if you don't get sun exposure you will be deficient.Many people are deficient in vit d and need suuplemen.
