About to start chantix - and am worried due to the side effects you hear about (i have bipolar in family and history of depression, 10 yrs ago). have you ever seen side effects they mention on tv?

Worried: Please discuss this with your psychiatrist. I have seen patients with depression and bipolar disorder become acutely and aggressively suicidal and homicidal after starting chantix. This would be playing russian roulette with your medical history.
