Steroid creams: Otc you can obtain Hydrocortisone cream or even Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream..Prescriptives will usually be triamcinolone creams which may be a little more effective in treating the local itch.

OTC: There are numerous topical ointments or salves to help alleviate the symptoms associated with mosquito bites. See your friendly pharmacist. On the other hand, if you have been biting mosquitoes I have no good suggestions. Good luck.

These don't need Rx.: Store aloe vera gel in refrigerator & apply to affected area. Rub basil leaf on bite. It repels mosquitoes & has anti-inflammatory properties. You can mix 2 parts baking soda w 1 part water. Stir into paste & place it over the mosquito bite. Can use calamine lotion. If you have problems w generalized welts, swelling of tongue, lips, airway - you should get urgent medical care.
