Warm compresses: Most spider bites heal without medications. Black widow and brown recluse spider bites warrant evaluation by a doctor. Otherwise, clean the wound, and apply warm compresses 3 times daily until better. An antihistamine (diphenhydramine, Benadryl) will help if it itches. See a doctor if any increase in tenderness, swelling, redness, red streaks, or fever.
