Phone triage: Most obstetricians have an answering service. Before heading to the hospital call your doctors office and see if he/she will call you back. Certainly there are non urgent causes of pelvic pain in pregnancy like round ligament syndrome. A quick discussion over the phone may be helpful and will take less time than going to the hospital.
