Severe = ER visit: If one has bad tummy pain, and is normally in good health, the possibilities include: appendicitis (usually right lower quadrant), diverticulitis, kidney stone (very painful), bad constipation, stomach flu, ovarian problems, pregnancy problems, other infections, etc... Most people with "moderate pain," more than mild pain, may need a doctor's evaluation to be sure it is not very serious.
