Calcaneus fracture: The soft tissue may take 10-14 days to calm down. Consider checking for compartment syndrome, dvt, or just severe soft tissue injury.

Calcaneus fracture: Swelling is expected after this type of injury. Although 3 days does seem like an eternity, it is relatively too soon to worry about length of swelling. The first worry is usually compartment syndrome, where numbness to excruciating pain occurs. If you notice increased pain or tenderness to your calf, this may be a blood clot which can occur from injury and immobilization. Hope that helps!
