Probably so: This is likely something called paronychia. Once the pus has drained then keep it clean and it generally solves on its own. If it lingers or worsens then you should see your primary care doctor.

If it gets worse: If there is a red streak going up your foot, if the problems worsens or returns, then you may need antibiotics or even a part of the ingrown nail removed. A podiatrist is the best one to make that determination.
