I had a loop recorder implanted one month ago. three days ago, it started oozing pus, it's red & swollen. doc said to apply neosporin. is this good?

Loop recorder: The lesion needs to be examined to see whether it is a superficial or a deeper infection. From out here without examining the lesion, can't know whether topical therapy is appropriate or whether other therapy is more appropriate.
