What advice can i receive for making plans for making a baby after 49 year's of age?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Consult a geneticist: Be aware that any medical issue that you have during a pregnancy may need to be managed differently.(medication effects on fetus, etc.) your risks of an unexpected outcome (cleft, premi, infection, etc.) is a baseline of 4% plus any additional risk /age (down syndrome=2%) . A visit with a geneticist can help find the issues that arise from either parent & let you plan with a full understanding
