A member asked:

Could my 1 year old be having seasonal allergic reactions to grass while playing outside. she has runny nose & mild congestion but is fine otherwise? her dr says babies her age dont usually have seasonal allergies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Infants don't have an immune system matured to the point that specific inhaled allergens can be accurately determined. Their congestion is routinely triggered by non-specific airborne irritants like dust/fragrances/pollen/smoke & dozens of other agents.
