Pattern : Jock itch or tinea cruris usually has flaking or scaling at the edges in the groin area or thigh. It also expands in continuous circles or rings. Yeast infections tend to be brighter red and at the edges will have small scattered red dots or satellite lesions which are near the edge but may not touch the edge. Both can be treated with topical cream like ketoconazole or loprox (ciclopirox). See a dermatologist.
