Bacterial vaginosis: is a common infection that causes itching and discharge. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by bacteria that lives in the vagina normally. Treatment of a vaginal yeast infection and/or use of feminine wash can result in bacterial vaginosis. If your itching continues you should have a test for bacterial vaginosis prior to any other treatment.

Possibly: The vagina always contains bacteria & other microbes but, if they're in a healthy balance, there's no need for treatment. Feminine washes (douching) can upset that balance & trigger infection. Since there's normally no need to use them & they may have caused a problem for you, I recommend you stop using them. Best wishes.
