A member asked:

Been taking prozac (fluoxetine) for two weeks. 20 mg. recently experiencing insomnia. took it before and don't remember this effect. does it go away?

It should: This may be a component of anxiety or major depression, and should improve with continued ssri use. Also, Prozac along with zoloft tends to be more activating, so if you are taking it at night, try taking your Prozac first thing in the morning. Alternatively, you could try to switch to a more sedating ssri like Celexa or paxil (paroxetine). Either way, you should discuss with your doctor.
