No: Prednisone is like killing a fly with a shotgun when all you need is a flyswatter. Prednisone has a lot of side effects. It is far better to take antihistamines along with prescription nasal sprays. If that does not help, see an allergist for evaluation and possible allergy shots.

Not the best choice: For seasonal or environmental allergies is like taking a proverbial gun to a knife fight. There are many risks of Prednisone use, and other less risky medications such as antihistamines like Loratadine or Cetirizine are effective and safer for long term use.
