No: Hysterectomy may be an option but it should be the option of last resort. There are less invasive options to treat the heavy bleeding and allow to you to keep your uterus which is important even in women who are not interested in fertility. Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE or UAE) is an outpatient, nonsurgical solution performed by Interventional Radiologists. Find an experienced IR and see.
