DDD: Sounds like degenerative disc disease. This causes inflammation in the facet joints of the spine. This will cause low back pain. Start by seeing your pcp. Oral nsaids like aleve (naproxen) may help.

Disc pain: Likely a disc related pain. This pain feels worse while sitting and leaning forward or slouching, getting up from a siting position, bending forward, reaching out and above. Most damaged discs heal n their own if the causative factor is avoided such a lifting heavy objects, bending down all the time etc. Pillow behind the back extends the spine and relieves pressure on a damaged disc.
