Usually specialists: Endoscopic ultrasound (i.e. Eus) is performed by gastroenterologists who are specifically trained in this relatively new technique. The test is usually ordered by gastroenterologists, surgeons, and oncologists (cancer doctors), to check for tumors within and adjacent to the walls of the esophagus, stomach, and bowel.
