Call ur dentist..: ... Just to let them know what occurred. Did you get an injection, or was there a lot of calculus removal, or was it a routine, 6 month cleaning? It's possible that the lip was cut, or just inflamed from the procedure. Put an ice pack on it tonight, and take otc pain meds. If not back to normal by the morning, see ur dentist.

Swollen lip: Unfortunately it could be due to finger position of the operator, or it could be an allergic reaction if your have a latex allergy and latex gloves were used you may experience such a thing. I would call the office to let them know what has happened and get their recommendations.

Allergic reaction: An allergy to latex gloves is common in dental/medical office. The best way to prevent allergic reactions is to avoid exposure to latex. Inform your doctor and dentist that you are allergic to latex. A common cause is iatrogenic or self-induce trauma.
