Go slow!: Let pain be your guide. Assuming the current conservative treatment is working, slowly start increasing your activity - perhaps just walking, or jogging a short distance. Stop if you get even a "twinge" of pain. Then see how things feel for the next day or so. If there are no signs of aggravating the injury (swelling or pain returns or worsens), then you can try again for a longer distance.
