Melanoma.: The concern with the melanoma is the fact that they tend to grow in depth more than radially. Therefore, a shave off the top would not be enough certainly to remove the lesion. If melanoma is a strong concern, I would think that the whole thing would have to be removed. Please clarify with dermatologist and follow this up closely. Melanoma should be taken seriously.
