GFR of 47 ml/min: A GFR of 47 ml/min is stage 3 chronic kidney disease (ckd). It is difficult to give you a prognosis. It depends on what the CKD is due to. Is it due to diabetes or hypertension, or some thing else? Is the cause of the CKD well controlled? To get a better assessment, have the patient ask the physician who ordered the tests that gave the GFR reading to give an estimation of the patient's prognosis.

Stage 3 CKD: Ckd = chronic kidney disease. Stage 5 is kidney failure (on or waiting for dialysis). Looks like you're diabetic so get your a1c under control, say <7%. We think of ace inhibitors (used to lower blood pressure) as useful in protecting kidneys. If that's not tolerated, consider an arb (another BP lowering agent). Before jumping into all this, consider repeating your blood & urine tests. No nsaids.
