IgA deficiency: Deficiency of the serum IgA immunoglobulin is fairly common affecting about 1 in 300 individuals. Many people will not have any increase in infections and it will be found incidentally. If there is no recurrent, severe or unusual infections, there is not much that needs to be done. The other immunoglobulin levels igg and igm should be checked--these are more important from an immune standpoint.
