A member asked:

How dangerous is this. 1200 mg motrin, 150mg plavix, (clopidogrel) and 7200mg flax seed oil daily after coils&stent put in brain aneurysm?

Doses correct?: Your Plavix (clopidogrel) is double the acceptable dose, and your Motrin doses can truly cause stomach gastritis and bleeding, and with the plavix, (clopidogrel) this could set off profound problems. There is a potential risk of bleeding in the brain again. See a neurologist and get this straightened out.

Risk and benefits: Placement of stents in the brain vessels is tricky- we have to balance the tendency to form clot in the stent that can lead to strokes and the risk of bleeding from drugs like Plavix (clopidogrel) that we give you to counteract this tendency. Without knowing more about your specific situation i would recommend to discuss this with the doctor who performed the procedure and follow the instructions exactly!
