After 2 surgeries on leg for stent implants my physician wants me to stop warfarin and take plavix (clopidogrel) for 3 months. he says that warfarin does not work on the lower exremities. i now take about 27 1/2 a week?

Different : Warfarin is a blood thinner that prevents blood clots which works systemically on all parts of the body including lower extremities. Plavix (clopidogrel) following stents is recommended to prevent stents from closing off. Both can increase risk of bleeding.
