A member asked:

Shouldn't 3 1/2 months be enough of being on plavix (clopidogrel) post surgery for coiling a cerebral aneurysm?

Varies: You should check with your neurosurgeon/neurointerventionalist about this. There are different types of coilings that are done and different types of coils/stents or devices that are used. Some of these are more likely to form clots than others. Also, some of the newer technologies with the pipeline devices have different requirements for antiplatelet therapy.

Discuss with MD: Your neuro-radiologist or neurosurgeon probably has a good reason for you to be on this, however, you should check with them.
