Many things: Infection, pressure, injection site damage. Since your dentist knows your tooth and exactly what was done, call them to discuss your problem.

A few things: If the rct was completed, & there is sealer, or gutta percha (the orange plastic points used to fill the rc) out of the root end, and the tooth is close to the inferior alveolar, or mental nerves (they supply the lip, tongue, and teeth) then you can have a feeling of numbness. Also, if during the injection, the nerve was pierced, it could also be a reason. See an endodontist if it doesn't go away.
