During root canal i was hard to numb & felt a little pain. dentist said was inflammed & blood was gushing out, could that be why i didnt numb well?

Possible: Inflamed pulp tend to be harder to anesthetize, and it may be a little uncomfortable initially but once the tooth is open it usually feels less painful. At least it is over now and you are feeling better.

Yes: The more acute the pain and the infection, often the harder it is to get the tooth fully anesthetized. After the first visit, and with proper dental treatment, the remainder of the treatment is usually easier and not a problem.

Anesthesia : Yes. If the nerve/dental pulp is inflamed it is harder to anesthetize the tooth. Also you may have accessory innervation.
