Def: Remedy: Something, such as medicine or therapy, that relieves pain, cures disease, or corrects a disorder. The above defines remedy. You can take pain meds to relieve pain, but not to cure or correct your dental problem. For that you will need a dentist.

Dental Rx: The only "remedy" for toothache is to have the infected tooth treated and the infection eliminated. Otc pain relievers, pills and salves, may mask the symptoms temporarily, but if the infection is left untreated your mild chronic problem will turn into a severe acute problem, in the middle of the night, on a holiday weekend, when your on vacation... Please call your dentist asap.

Simple solution: See a dentist ASAP. A tooth pain won't go away without dental treatment. You can use NSAID OTC or Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain control. See a dentist ASAP for assessment and definitive treatment.
