A member asked:

Will variceole surgery raise my low end of normal testosterone numbers (250) and when would one see it working post surgery. ?

Never: Acer, I do not believe that there is much literature on this subject. We know that varicocele are associated with pain, which improves after surgery. We also know they are associated with infertility but not the cause. I have never seen or heard of the surgery being recommended to help boost testosterone. Either you're being told misinformation, or this literature is quite small.

No + self examine: Not raise testosterone but lower testicular temperature, which is elevated with varicocele and thought major infertility effect. V will involute almost immediately after successful surgery, prove this by self examination when standing and with valsalva(bearing down). Scrotal feeling of heaviness/mild discomfort, if previously present should go. Pain, virtually never present with v should resolve.
