Board Certification: Look for a surgeon who is board certified in plastic surgery by the american board of plastic surgery. Usually they are also member surgeons of groups like the american society of plastic surgeons, or the american society for aesthetic plastic surgery. Board-certification is like a pilot's license. You wouldn't get on a plane flown by someone who didn't have the requisite training. Same here.

Many Resources.: Would suggest starting with the american society of plastic surgery and/or the aesthetic society of plastic surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. then, i would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate him on aesthetic surgery. Ask to see lots of examples of their work and preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures.

Look for a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in the area of cosmetic breast surgery as well as someone who specializes in revisions. Www.surgery.org: Great question vivian! in my opinion, finding a surgeon that is a member of the american society of aesthetic plastic surgeons at www.Surgery.Org not only insures that you are going to a board certified plastic surgeon, but that a significant portion if not all of his/her practice is devoted to the practice of cosmetic plastic surgery. I hope this helps.
