Fortunately, fine needle aspiration biopsy is a relatively painless, minor procedure that when combined with imaging and physical exam is very effective in diagnosing breast lumps in younger women.

Unlikely cancer: It is fairly common in your age group to present with a "breast lump." the most common causes are benign - fibroadenoma or cyst. Breast cancer is extremely rare in teenagers. Consult your physician. They may order a breast ultrasound to verify. In many cases, no treatment is necessary. However, you may choose to have it removed if your surgeon or you are concerned.

See below: Hi, it is too difficult to give an accurate answer with this one question, but it is a good chance that this may be benign. To be most thorough to assess whether this is a tumor is to consider an ultrasound-guided biopsy of the area of concern. The level of suspicion might go up if you have a family history of breast cancer.

Fibroadenoma?: It would be uncommon for a 19 year old to develop breast cancer. Most likely you are describing something called a fibroadenoma, a benign tumor of the breast. If these grow large or are painful they can be removed. You should discuss your concerns with your friendly primary care physician.
