A member asked:

Would it be alright to eat less than 1000 calories a day if you eat enough and are not starving yourself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It depends upon your height, weight, overall health. 1000 calories a day is a very restrictive intake and can lead to significant weight loss, particularly when coupled with exercise. It is potentially risky. Make sure you get in adequate water, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other nutrients to avoid damaging your body. Check w/your doctor and/or a good registered dietitian.
