Starvation diet: A starvation diet consists of a very low calorie diet. A diet that provides 300-700 kcal/day. Eating persistently, this small amount of calories could cause the risk of death through intractable cardiac arrhythmias. Other side effects orthostatic hypotension due to loss of sodium, fatigue, hypothermia, cold intolerance, xeroderma, hair loss, & dysmenorrhea.
