That is pretty low: You probably won't have a serious problem EXCEPT for major loss of muscle BUT, you use up about 2400 calories... net loss of 1000 calorie per day or a bout 2 pounds a week. Better is somewhat more liberal with weight trainginng to preserve muscle you might find this amusing...https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1775472781/devils-diet

Eat: 1200 calories per day is likely to leave you hungry. An alternative to severe calorie restriction is to emphasize fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein and complex carbs. Instead of counting calories, put your energy into living a healthy lifestyle with regular aerobic exercise, sufficient rest and nourishing food.

No: Phenetermine is a type of amphetamine which is used for weight loss and appetite suppression. Amphetamines should be avoided in pregnancy. Amphetamine use in pregnancy can be dangerous for the baby. Pregnancy is a time for healthy eating not dieting or suppressing appetite.

A 38-year-old member asked:

Am I burning more calories when I am constipated or when I have a bad case of diarrhea?

Neither in most case: Neither constipation not diarrhea affect calorie consumption. In some cases an infectious diarrhea may lead to poor absorption of calories and decreased intake and chronic inflammatory diarrhea may increase metabolic demands in some cases but a significant difference would only be seen in very sick patients.

Are potatoes good for a low calorie diet?

It's all relative.: For very low calorie diets, potatoes are relatively high calorie [1 cup of diced potato is 55 calories] compared to 1 serving of turnips or even better deal cooked radishes/daikon. But potatoes are a good deal compared to 1/2 cup of white rice [120 calories], 1 cup of noodles, bread or bagels. So it depends on how low you're trying to go.
A 52-year-old member asked:

45-65%: Your carbs should be about 45-65% of your total calories every day. Choose good carbs like fruits, veggies, nuts and beans, and whole grains. Happy eating!

Ginger Ale: Can help with upset stomach but it has calories. It isn't a good diet product.
