Tricky: There are 3500 calories in a pound of stored fat. So, (example)maybe jog for 1 hour, which may be listed in a chart as 600 calories per hour.. Strictly speaking, you could then say that 600 x 6 hours of jogging = 3600 calories burned = just over 1 pound loss. The reality is that the metabolic rate after you stopped jogging is elevated for a few hours afterward, so you actually used more calories.
