Visualization: Firstly, intra-operative MRI is not commonly available. It is used to guide surgery on structures or masses that can only be seen on mri. This could be in the brain, breast or other organs. Because of the strong magnetic field, specialized surgical tools are needs to avoid magnetic accidents.
