Absolutely, but..: Talk to your doctor at each visit about your desire to keep this info very confidential. I sure wouldn't want people like my mother-in-law to know I have hsv during childbirth, but there are people who absolutely need to know this info for your safety and the baby's safety (people like the nurses, anesthesia, pediatrician). These people should take extra effort to disclose the info only as needed!
