Maybe: If the toothache is accompanied with anxiety of having the tooth treated by visiting to a dentist, then it can cause a higher blood pressure. Anytime there is an infection in the body, it may cause higher blood pressure. However, this doesn't mean that there could be other causes for the high blood pressure. It is better to see your primary care doctor, as well as your dentist to determine cause.

Yes, but...: While pain and anxiety can raise blood pressure, there may be many other medical reasons. Please: 1. Call your dentist to have your infected tooth treated before it becomes an acute emergency (usually at the most inconvenient times) 2. Call your physician to have your elevated blood pressure evaluated. This is very important.

No: The stress and pain of a toothache may elevate your BP by a bit, but should not cause "really high" blood pressure. Take care of that rotten tooth... your blood pressure will not drop that much. Then take care of your BP, too.

Yes, but: Yes. I've seen this countless times. But when you get your tooth pain treated, blood pressure should then be within normal limits. If not, see your MD.
