Triptans: If you can take a triptan prep within the first 45-60 minutes, you have greater than a 90% chance of stopping or mitigating the headache. Ergotamines and cambia, and even dolovent can be taken later into the headache. Granted, opioids may help transiently, but lead to increased headaches, and increased rebound. 100% oxygen may also help.
