Yes: If the joint is separated, then it depends on the length of time from the injury. If is is relatively acute then you can reconstruct it with heavy strength suture. If chronic, then you need to use a graft to reconstruct. If you have some arthritis in the joint, we do not replace it. We take 8-10mm of the bone off the end so the bones don't touch and the arthritis pain goes away.
