Shoulder issue: Grinding noise is a non-specific symptom and may not be anything to worry about, but it may be part of a bigger picture that may need attention. It all depends on your recovery. If your pain is improving and function is slowly getting better, then you may need to watch it and consult your doc if other symptoms are present or recovery halts.

Maybe: Some grinding and crackling can be normal after surgery. Surgery is really just a "controlled injury" to the tissue. The body tries to heal which is really the same as scarring. With shoulder surgery, the balance between immobilization and therapy is critical. You probably have a few small bands or areas of scar tissue that need to remodel to make that grinding go away.
